Asian Center for the Progress of Peoples

The Asian Center for the Progress of Peoples [ACPP] was conceived in 1979 when groups and individuals of the Church, committed to justice and peace work in Hong Kong, saw beyond the needs of the territory and realized the urgency of an Asian level involvement. Hence, they set up the ACPP with a name that drew inspiration from Pope Paul VI’s encyclical letter Progress of Peoples (Populorum Progressio), 1967.

ACPP is a religious-inspired and independent, regional non-governmental organization based in Hong Kong, founded to serve justice and peace efforts in Asia towards people’s total liberation and development, and responds to needs of grassroots and action groups and also cooperates with concerned professional and scholars.
