Hotline - INDIA

Hotline [HL] is a project of Asian Center for the Progress of Peoples [ACPP], a religious-inspired and independent, regional, non-governmental organisation based in Hong Kong.

Born in 1980, HL was initially sponsored jointly by the Office of Human Development of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and the Center for the Progress of Peoples. Since January 1994, HL has been the project of ACPP.

HL works as a regional/international complement to the local efforts of groups and individuals in Asia. Its operations include:

§  Advocacy and solidarity action

§  Networking and communications

§  Information, education and training support

The Hotline Extension Workers [HLEWs] project is set up jointly with local Justice and Peace Commissions. The HLEWs carry out the objectives and activities of HL at the local level in Asia. In India there are three HLEW units—Mumbai, Delhi and Kerala.
