Documentation & Publication

Knowledge is power. To translate it into effective social action for positive social transformation, the department makes available information that illumine the path to people’s empowerment. Its resources focus on areas of social concern, such as ecology, communication, culture, development, education, health, human rights, judiciary and law, politics, religion, etc.

 

The department also publishes books and periodicals on issues that relate to the progress of peoples and the promotion of justice and peace in society.

 

Objectives
  • To collect, collate and disseminate relevant data on issues of social concern to support the  struggles of the marginalized
  • To provide documentation skills to staff of community centres
  • To provide a platform for like-minded individuals and organizations to share news and views on various issues of social concern
Facilities
  • The library is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
  • Membership: Rs.300
  • Library members can borrow two books at a time for a week.
  • Members can avail of audio-visual material on payment of a deposit of Rs.500.
